Lionel Edwards VE7BQH Talk:
Moonbounce (EME) Made Easy

SARC's April 21st meeting featured an excellent presentation on EME (moonbounce) by Lionel Edwards VE7BQH. Lionel made his first EME contact in 1969 and eventually achieved DXCC, WAS and WAC all on EME. In his presentation, Lionel showed some photos of large and more modest EME antenna installations around the world, discussed the many losses associated with signal transmission to the moon and back, reviewed desirable noise characteristics of the equipment and some typical setups with radios, amplifiers, preamps, feedlines and antennas. Below is a link to Lionel's Powerpoint material as well as a list of sources of information from the web. He has consented to be available as a resource contact (ve7bqh@shaw.ca) for those who wish to pursue EME. Following a question and answer period after the presentation, Lionel was thanked for sharing his knowledge with the group and was given a bottle of wine as a token of appreciation from the audience.
